Pirate Of Silicon Valley Soundtrack
Hi There,
I’ve been wanting to do this post for well over a year now, and I really want to share my top 5 movies. I hope you guys agree, or some good discussion ensues.
Here they are, in no particular order.
1) The Social Network
This movie is about how Facebook came into being. It features an AWESOME soundtrack as well as great acting by all the cast. While its not terribly accurate to what really happened, this film is still a really good watch.
2) Tron: Legacy
This is on my list for the CGI Alone (and maybe Olivia Wilde. Dayumn.) The CGI is beautiful, colors and action were done really well by disney and the soundtrack by Daft Punk was awesome, and remains on my programming tunes playlist to this day. This one pissed off a lot of Tron fans, but as a stand alone film, awesome.
3) Into the Wild
This is a movie based on a book about a kid who after graduating from Uni, goes “Into the wild” in search for himself. The journey takes him to some weird and wonderful places, and the philosophy and other ideas raised in the film. Once again, brilliant soundtrack by Eddie Vedder.
4) The Pirates of Silicon Valley
This movie is the same idea as The Social Network, but shows the origins of the Mac, the PC and the chain of theft that occurred. Well worth a watch for any geek.
5) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
This is still my favorite of the 8 films made to date, the epic fight scene in at the end and the character development of the main 3 is brilliant.
6) In Time
This one is reasonably new. Its a film about a utopian society where time is the currency. Its well worth a watch and the idea of time being currency really excited me.
7)Hot Fuzz
This is a classic brit comedy. I could watch this all day. The two main actors work really well off each other and the supporting roles are played brilliantly. Always makes me laugh
V for Vendetta
Just awesome. This film is set in a dystopic 22nd century England, where they are now the worlds super power. One man, V, seeks to change that.
9) The Matrix
From the same directors as V for Vendetta, this film is set in another Utopian world where everyone is just part of a energy cell for robots. One small team who know the truth seek to change that.
10) Iron Man
Still my favorite of the Marvel Films. Main character Tony Stark is played brilliantly by Robert Downey Jr, and the technology in the film is just incredible. We’re getting closer and closer with Apple’s Siri.
These are my top 10 movies, I hoped you enjoyed reading, and if you haven’t seen these films, I’m sure they’re all on iTunes somewhere to downloads. Let me know on twitter (I’m @samjarman) or in the comments section below if you agree, disagree or have something to add.
Cheers
Be safe, click away, have fun.

Sony Pictures may have found its Steve Jobs for the upcoming biopic on the late Apple co-founder and CEO. Academy Award Winner George Clooney may soon be tapped for the role, according to The Sun.
The movie, based on Jobs’ official biography by Walter Isaacson, is expected to begin filming in 2012. According to the report, Clooney is going head-to-head for the role with his former “ER” co-star, Noah Wyle.
Wyle, of course, previously played Jobs in the 1999 TNT TV series, “Pirates of Silicon Valley.”
The Steve Jobs movie, which may involve Aaron Sorkin, the writer of Sony Pictures’ “The Social Network,” will examine Jobs’ entire life, but specifically focus on his time at Apple.
Jobs died October 5 at age 56.
While Wyle did an impressive job playing the late CEO before, I’d be surprised if he secured the role again. After all, while Hollywood loves telling stories, its No. 1 goal is to make money. Therefore, if the role has been narrowed to a choice between Clooney and Wyle, my gut tells me Clooney will get the nod. Of course, what do I know?
Check out Noah Wyle playing Jobs at MacWorld NY in 1999:
So, who do you think should play Steve Jobs in the upcoming movie? Let us know by using the comments below.
