The key to building a successful remake film among the general masses is always a tricky affair. Unless you can bring something new to the table, or have enough skill to surpass its original vision, then it's a project that's ultimately doomed to fail in the eyes of fans.

The challenge in topping Universal Studio's 1982 version of Conan The Barbarian (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger) is pretty high. Not only did it serve to make Arnold a star, but the film captured the tone and style of Conan's universe so well that it became a 1980's cult classic.

Since the character hasn't been seen on screen since 1984's campy sequel Conan The Destroyer, the powers-that-be who currently own his film rights ultimately decided to give the infamous warrior a reboot dust-off, and see if lightning could strike twice by headlining the film with an unproven actor in the role. But in August of 2011, the film tanked in its theatrical run (even with a 3D version) and was quickly released on Blu-ray on November 22 in the hopes that the movie could ultimately find an audience.
